100 Brooches, Velvet da Vinci Gallery

Brooches by U.S. and international artists based on the book, 500 Brooches

Celebrating the recent publication of 500 Brooches by Lark Books, Velvet da Vinci brings work by 125 artists from 18 countries. These are not your grandmother's brooches but cutting edge work by some of the finest artists in the field. Artists from Slovakia, Austria, Portugal, Germany, United Kingdom, Sweden, Australia, Israel, Norway, Spain, the US and others, show how fashion and art can coincide on a coat lapel.

The exhibition will travel to the following venues:

• East Carolina University School of Art and Design, August 15 – September 10, 2005
• Bellagio Gallery, Ashville, North Carolina, October 1 – December 31, 2005
• Pacini Lubel Gallery, Seattle, Washington, January 20 – February 28, 2006
